Fort Lauderdale, Fla. -- The Nova Southeastern University Cheerleaders have decided to concentrate their volunteer efforts toward Special Olympics Broward County this year.

The Cheerleaders jumped right into it, helping with two bowl-a-thons this fall on Aug. 28 and Sept. 25. Their efforts went toward the awards ceremony by giving out awards and congratulating the award winning athletes.

Special Olympics Broward County (SOBC) provides sports training and Olympic-style competition to almost 1000 athletes with developmental disabilities in 18 sports through the support of over 40 training programs throughout the county.
