FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Nova Southeastern University women’s soccer player,
Lindsey Nowland (So., Cape Coral, Fla.), has earned the 2010 Academic All-District third team award for district three as announced by the committee on Tuesday, Nov. 2. This award is voted on by CoSida (College Sports Information Directors of America), rewarding excellence on the field and in the classroom.
Nowland, a Biology major, boasts a 3.98 grade point average at NSU. In addition to her successes in the classroom, Nowland has also excelled on the playing field as well. She has started on the back line in all of the Sharks 11 games this season, helping NSU to hold opponents to 17 goals. Additionally, Nowland has been credited with one assist on the year against Florida Memorial on Sept. 8.
Nowland and the Sharks (9-5-1, 5-2-1 SSC) won the Co-SSC regular season title, clinching hosting rights for the SSC Final Four. NSU will face fourth seeded Tampa in the semi finals of the league tournament at the NSU Soccer Complex on Friday at 7 p.m.
