FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (July 15, 2008) - Nova Southeastern University sophomore cheerleader Anastagia Pierre (Plantation, Fla.) was recently named Miss Florida USA 2009.

Pierre beat 48 contestants from across the state during the final competition Saturday in Broward County. The young women are judged in personality, swimsuit and evening gown categories.

The 19 year old will go on to represent the Sunshine State in the Miss USA national competition in April 2009.
