Box Score

Pensacola, Fla
. – The Nova Southeastern University women’s soccer team ended play at the 2010 season at the ArgoFanShop.com Invitational hosted by West Florida on Sunday afternoon with a 2-0 loss to regional foe North Alabama Lions.

UNA’s Chloe Roberts put the Lions on the board right from the get go. Just :11 seconds after the kickoff, Roberts barreled through the Shark defense and scored from the right side to give the Lions (1-1-0) a quick 1-0 lead.

It wasn’t long before Roberts showed her prowess again in the 20th minute. She added her second score of the game, this time a quick dribble through the middle, and left footed the ball from 30 yards away to give UNA an early 2-0 lead they would carry into the halftime break.

Even though the Sharks ended the game with a 13-12 shot advantage, none managed to hit their mark for a score as the Sharks begin their 2010 with an 0-2-0 record

NSU’s Chrissy Hy (Jr., Pembroke Pines, Fla.) faced 12 opposing shots and recorded 3 saves, while North Alabama’s Alex McLay stopped five on target shots for the Lions.

The Sharks will return to action on Wednesday night for their home opener against Florida Memorial at 7 pm.
