FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Nova Southeastern golfer Benjamin Taylor (So., Leatherhead, England) has been chosen to compete in the 2012 Jones Cup Invitational, being held from Feb. 2-5 at the Ocean Forest Golf Club in Sea Island, Ga.

The Jones Cup Invitational is a prestigious tournament that features the best collegiate golfers in the country. After the annual tournament began in 2001, all but one of the winners went on to earn their PGA card.

“Ben has had an exceptional fall season and is an integral part of our goals for this team,” said head coach Garrett Runion. “Receiving an invitation to the Jones Cup is a high honor and we know he will do a great job of representing NSU.”

Taylor has had a benchmark fall season for the Sharks as he will enter the spring season as the No. 1 player in the country. He is the first NSU men’s golfer to be ranked as the top golfer in the country. Taylor led the Sharks in the fall with a successful campaign, highlighted by his win at the Otter Invitational in Monterey, Calif. Thanks in part to Taylor’s strong play, the Sharks will enter the Spring as the fifth ranked team in the country and one of the favorites to take home another Sunshine State Conference title.

The Sharks will start the 2012 season at the Mardi Gras Invitational in New Orleans, La. From Feb. 27-28.
