Sunshine State Conference Release
WINTER PARK, Fla. – Nova Southeastern pitcher Sara DeMuth (Sr., Plant City, Fla,) has been recognized for the third time this season as the Sunshine State Conference Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.
DeMuth picked up each win in the Sharks’ SSC sweep at Lynn. Working 17.0 innings, DeMuth surrendered one earned run on 10 hits and four walks. She struck out 27 Fighting Knights. Her most impressive outing came in a 6-0 victory in the opener. She earned a complete-game shutout, scattering five hits with no walks and 11 strikeouts.
With her 27 strikeouts at Lynn, DeMuth became just the fourth player in school history to top 400 strikeouts in her career, as she now stands at 407. DeMuth has now also thrown 232.1 innings this season, the most in a single season for any NSU pitcher. She sits just four wins away from breaking the single-season win record in program history of 25.
DeMuth has previously been recognized by the conference March 19 after defeating Eckerd three times and March 5 when she pitched to a 4-1 record and a save.
