FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The Nova Southeastern men’s and women’s swimming and diving team lent a helping hand to the Carver Ranches Boys and Girls Club Thursday, May 17 to teach a group of 30 boys and girls swimming techniques.
“This was a great opportunity for our team to volunteer and give back to the community,” said NSU head swimming and diving coach Hollie Bonewit-Cron. “This involvement helped kids not only learn swimming technique, but also safety in the water.”
The Carver Ranches Boys and Girls Club is prominent in both Broward in Dade counties for over 25 years that provides a clean, safe and fun place to play for children of single parent families. A particular focus of the club is getting children to “accept themselves” and build self confidence and sense of purpose so they can avoid temptations and trouble in the high school years.
