No. 1 Ben Taylor Announced to 2012 All-Nicklaus Team

Award given to the top collegiate men’s golfer in Divisions I, II, III, the NAIA and the NJCAA.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Nova Southeastern men’s golfer No. 1 Benjamin Taylor (So., Leatherhead, England) has been selected to the 2012 All-Nicklaus Team as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America, which recognizes players from Division I, II, III, NAIA and NJCAA for their outstanding play during the past collegiate season.

The All-Nicklaus Team was created in 2008, and is not only named for history’s greatest player but also a long-time supporter of collegiate and amateur golf. Jack Nicklaus, a Big Ten and NCAA Champion at The Ohio State University, helped inspire and create the Jack Nicklaus Awards in 1988. The Nicklaus Award is annually given to the top collegiate men’s golfer in Divisions I, II, III, the NAIA and the NJCAA, which Taylor also received.

In his collegiate career Taylor played in 33 rounds over 11 tournaments and finished with a low round 66 and a 70.94 stroke average. With two tournament victories, four runner-ups and three top-five finishes this season. He has been honored with the Jack Nicklaus Award as National Player of the Year, a 2012 Division II PING All-America First-Team selection, 2012 Sunshine State Conference Player of the Year, 2012 SSC Champion and 2012 All-SSC First Team member.

Taylor’s hard work and phenomenal play, places him on this list as one of the best golfers in all of collegiate golf this season.
