FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern tennis team has been honored as an Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team, while three student-athletes were named as Scholar Athletes.
The Sharks earned the team award for having a cumulative team GPA of a 3.2. NSU was one of 66 schools in NCAA Division-II to receive the honor.
The team was highlighted by three ITA Scholar Athletes in
Dominique Wimmer (Sr., Guntramsdorf, Austria),
Austin Lavallii (Jr., Williamston, Mich.) and
Federica Longo (Jr., Buenos Aires, Argentina). Lavalli and Longo each earned over a 3.5 GPA this year while majoring in Sports and Recreation Management and Communication Studies, respectively.
Wimmer graduated in the spring with a 4.00 cumulative GPA and a degree in Accounting. Wimmer was also named as the NSU Female Scholar Athlete of the Year.
