FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern University tennis team will begin its fall season at the Bill and Sandra Moore Invitational, hosted by the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md. from Friday, Sept. 21 until Sunday, Sept. 23.
The Sharks have retooled for the upcoming season, as head coach Dr. Michael Coleman has matched five newcomers with five veteran returners. All-American and First-Team All-SSC honoree
Alexandra Johansson (So., Sydney, Australia) and lone senior
Austin Lavallii (Williamston, Mich.) hope to lead the team to the top of the Sunshine State Conference.
The road to success starts in the fall, where individuals and doubles teams will compete for a spot in the Spring season’s national rankings. The tournament at the Naval Academy is one of four events the Sharks will be traveling to this year.
Teams competing this weekend include Navy, George Mason, Howard, Loyola (Md.), Manhattan, Monmouth, Seton Hall, St. Bonaventure and Towson. Doubles play will start on Friday and conclude on Saturday, while singles action starts on Saturday and wrap up on Sunday.
