WINTER PARK, Fla. – Nova Southeastern women’s golfer
Linnea Johansson (Fr., Faxjo, Sweden) has won her second straight Sunshine State Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week honor, as presented by VALIC.
Johansson earned her second straight individual victory against a strong field at Rollins’ Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational. Johansson shot a three-round score of 215 (71-72-72) to post a seven-stroke victory over teammate Daniela Ortiz. Johansson’s performance helped the Sharks claim the team victory at the 10-team tournament. The squad also broke its own Peggy Kirk Bell record for the lowest final team score by 12 strokes.
This win came off the heels of a win at the Lady Moc Classic, marking her 2-for-2 in tournaments in the spring.
Johansson will be gunning for her third straight win of the spring this week, when the Sharks enter the Bucknell Women’s Golf Invitational in Las Vegas, Nev. beginning March 15.
