FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Vinnie Contaldi (Sr., Jupiter, Fla.) has been named Sunshine State Conference Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the conference office Monday.
The senior starter tossed a complete-game shutout in the Sharks’ 5-0 win over Bentley. Working nine innings, Contaldi surrendered just two hits with no walks. He struck out five in the outing. His effort was integral to the Sharks’ sweep of Bentley this past weekend.
This is Contaldi’s second honor of the season. He was also honored for his previous performance against Albany State, in which he struck out seven batters in five innings.
The Sharks will have a busy week, beginning with a game against Southern New Hampshire Tuesday at home at 6 p.m.
