WINTER PARK, Fla. – Senior
Chelsea Emery (Eustis, Fla.) captured the Sunshine State Conference Softball Player of the Week award, presented by VALIC, as announced by conference office Monday.
Fittingly, this is her first such award since joining the Sharks last season.
Emery finished out her final week in her collegiate career, leading her team to a perfect 4-0 record. On the week, Emery had a batting percentage of .643, along with eight RBI and two runs. In the doubleheader against Northwood, Emery went 6-for-9 with six RBI and a slugging percentage of .889. Emery recorded a .786 slugging percentage to go along with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage last week.
Emery finished her final season with a .266 batting average and had 17 RBI, while playing in 44 games. Emery also finished second on the team with a .992 fielding percentage as the team’s first baseman.
