FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Nova Southeastern women’s and track and field student-athlete,
Ciona Williams (Fr., Stockton, Ca.) has been selected as Peach Belt Track and Field Athlete of the Week, announced by the conference office.
Williams ran on the 4x100-meter and 4x400-meter relay teams at the Drake Relays over the weekend, setting season-bests in both events. The Sharks finished fifth in the 4x100-meter relay, running 47.17. In the 4x400-meter relay, the team finished seventh in a time of 3:48.74, the third-fastest time in the PBC this season and less than half a second off their NCAA provisional time set at the Florida Relays. Williams, the 2013 PBC Women’s Track Freshman of the Year, also holds an NCAA provisional mark in the 100 and has the fourth-fastest 200 time in the PBC.
