FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Nova Southeastern men's golfers
Ricardo Celia (Jr., Barranquilla, Columbia) and
Benjamin Taylor (Jr., Leatherhead, England) have been selected to the 2013 All-Nicklaus Team as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America, which recognizes players from Division I, II, III, NAIA and NJCAA for their outstanding play during the past collegiate season.
The All-Nicklaus Team was created in 2008, and is not only named for history's greatest player but also a long-time supporter of collegiate and amateur golf. Jack Nicklaus, a Big Ten and NCAA Champion at The Ohio State University, helped inspire and create the Jack Nicklaus Awards in 1988. The Nicklaus Award is annually given to the top collegiate men's golfer in Divisions I, II, III, the NAIA and the NJCAA, which Taylor also received.
Ricardo Celia was one of the nation's elite golfers and was arguably the Sharks' rock of consistency this season. He was the only athlete on his team that ranked in the top-20 in every tournament of the season. His biggest highlight of the year was earning the individual title at the Sunshine State Conference Championship, the toughest conference in DII men's golf.
