FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern men's basketball team has three student-athletes named to the 2013 National Association of Basketball Coaches Honors Court. Graduated seniors
Louie Schonauer (Sr., Lincoln, Ill.) and
Lukas Roesch (Sr., Sugar Grove, Ohio), alongside
Brian Cahill (So., Arlington, Va.), were all recognized.
The NABC annually recognizes those collegiate basketball student-athletes who excelled in academics during the 2012-13 season. Honorees must be in their junior or senior year academically and hold a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
Schonauer recently graduated NSU with a degree in Sports and Recreation Management, while Roesch finished his four-year career at NSU with a degree in Exercise and Sports Science. Cahill will continue to pursue a degree in Business Administration in the fall.
This is the second academic honor for the men's basketball team this summer, as the Sharks had seven players named to the Sunshine State Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll last month. The NABC will be announcing its Team Academic Excellence awards later in the summer.
