Hafner Promoted to Top Volleyball Assistant

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Amy Hafner has been elevated to the top assistant on the 2013 Nova Southeastern volleyball coaching staff.

Hafner was a volunteer assistant coach last year for the Sharks after coming to NSU from the University of Arkansas-Little Rock. She had been a volunteer assistant with the Trojans after finishing her volleyball career there, as well as earning her undergraduate and two master's degrees from the school.

During her two seasons at UALR, Hafner was named the 2007 Sun Belt Conference Newcomer of the Year and 2008 SBC Defensive Player of the Year. She began her collegiate career at Navarro Junior College in Corsicana, Texas, and graduated high school from Red Oak High School in Red Oak, Texas.

Head coach Steve Wilcosky, Hafner and the Sharks will open up the 2013 volleyball season with the two-day Shark Classic at the NSU Arena, September 6-7, featuring eight DII schools from around the country. The first match of the season takes place at 11:30 a.m. on that Friday against Virginia State.
