Broberg and Rolon Sweep Women’s Soccer SSC Players of the Week

Duo helped propel the Sharks to a perfect 2-0 weekend at the CSU Collegiate Invitational.

WINTER PARK, Fla. – Nova Southeastern women's soccer players Malin Broberg (Sr., Stockholm, Sweden) and Sandra Rolon (Jr., San Juan, P.R.) brought home the clean sweep, as they both have been selected Sunshine State Conference Women's Soccer Players of the Week presented by VALIC. The Sharks finished the Columbus State University Collegiate Invitational with a perfect 2-0 record.

Broberg, the conference's Offensive Player of the Week, scored game-winning goals in each match this weekend. She scored the game's first goal in NSU's 3-0 victory over North Alabama on Friday. In the second match against No. 14 Lenoir-Rhyne, Broberg scored in the 107th minute to propel the Sharks to a 2-1 victory in thrilling fashion. Through four games this season, three of Broberg's four goals have been game-winners.

Rolon, the conference's Defensive Player of the Week, recorded her second shutout of the season in the 3-0 victory over North Alabama. Against No. 14 Lenoir-Rhyne, she made back-to-back saves in the closing minutes of regulation to force overtime, and the Sharks went on to win 2-1 in two overtimes. Rolon faced 19 shots and made four saves against the Bears. This is her first ever SSC Player of the Week award.
