Varsity-8 Adds Another SSC Boat of the Week Honor
WINTER PARK, Fla.
– The Nova Southeastern University varsity-8 earned Sunshine State Conference Boat of the Week honors for its performance at the Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Association (SIRA) Championships.
The Sharks' V8 led No. 1 Nova Southeastern to a second-place finish in the team point standings at the SIRA Championships despite only racing the V8 and varsity-4 events. In the first heat, the NSU V8 finished first in a time of 6:59.5 to defeat Dayton, Rollins, Emory and Colorado. The Sharks finished second in the semifinal behind Kansas State in a time of 7:02.9, and then finished second again in a time of 6:53.6 in the finals behind the Wildcats.

The Sharks will look to capture the conference title at the 2014 Sunshine State Conference Championship in Sarasota, Fla. on April 25.
