FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – From Oct. 17 to Oct. 31 the NSU Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) helped collect socks for Socktober, a sock drive organized by Davie Elementary School Student Council.
 
The initial goal from Davie Elementary was 200 pairs of socks, and with the donation of nearly 550 pairs of socks by SAAC and other NSU student-athletes, a total of 1,000 pairs of socks donated. The donated socks will be given to students in need in Broward County Schools, as well as the less fortunate in Broward County and people in Haiti who recently suffered due to Hurricane Mathew.
