Sharks Baseball Set For Tuesday Night Matchup With Lander

 The No. 5 Nova Southeastern University baseball team (40-16, 18-6 SSC) is set to take on the No. 4 Lander University Bearcats (43-14, 22-8 PBC) on Tuesday night at 5:00 p.m. at the USA Baseball National Training Complex. Both teams are 1-0 in the NCAA Division II Baseball Championship tournament, winning their first games in walk off fashion.

The winner of Tuesday nights game will move on to play on June 2nd against whoever comes out of the losers bracket on the bottom half of the bracket (Lander/NSU, Franklin Pierce or Central Missouri). Lander beat Central Missouri in the bottom of the ninth inning on Saturday night after Central Missouri tied the game at 3-3 in the top of the ninth.

Lander comes into the game with 92 home runs as a team, but have struck out in over 25% of their at bats in 2016. The offense is led by Zach Daly, who has hit 22 home runs in 2016 and is one of five Bearcats with 12 or more home runs. The Bearcats won the Southeast Region after finishing second in the Peach Belt Conference tournament.
