FORT LAUDERDALE -
Nova Southeastern University Director of Athletics Michael Mominey announced today the establishment and official launch of the NSU Lettermen's Association, a membership for all NSU Athletics Alumni.

Established by former student-athletes, the NSU Lettermen's Association has been designed to help provide an avenue for former NSU student-athletes to maintain, develop and create a network where camaraderie and continued engagement will assist in supporting the department of athletics. In collaboration with the Athletics Advisory Council, Roberto Barionel (Baseball, '15), Lauren Boudreau (Rowing, '13), Samantha Gestido (Soccer, '16), and Paola Ruiz-Villafane (Volleyball, '12) have been instrumental in establishing the formalization of the Association bylaws and will be leading the charge in alumni membership, solicitation and participation.

"I am very excited to announce the establishment of a Lettermen's Association," Mominey said. "This is yet another example of the initiative our student-athletes, now alumni and alumnae, who are genuinely interested in staying engaged with and support the athletic programs and the university they were once recruited by. Their interest quite simply lies in the continuation of their passion to ensure that the next generations of Shark student-athletes have the same great experiences that they once did."

The purpose of the Association is to assist in promoting the academic and general athletic interest of the university in keeping with the traditions that exemplify the highest ideals of competition and sportsmanship. It will assist in promoting the continued development of the university athletic programs, locally, regionally, and nationally. It will promote fellowship among members of the association, university administration, and general student body. Additionally, it will support fundraising initiatives that enhance the athletic scholarships, student academic support, and capital projects.

In its inaugural year, a charter membership will be $25.00. Included in the fee will be an All-Sports Pass granting free admission to all NSU regular season home events for one full year. If you are an NSU athletic alumnus and would like to join the Association, click HERE for more information and the application.

In addition to becoming a member, the Association is also recruiting individuals who are interested in serving on the board to assist in further expanding the membership and driving its initiatives. For more information, please email lettermensassoc@nova.edu.
