BRADENTON, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern University men's and women's track and field teams concluded day two of the 2017 NCAA Division II National Championship at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida after Sherrelle Jordan competed in the 100m hurdles and Rohan Mullings in the 110m hurdles.
"Sherrelle and Rohan ran their hearts out, I am proud of what they accomplished for our program," said head coach Bryan Hagopian. "Sherrelle ended as a three-time national qualifier and Rohan was able to qualify for nationals in his main event. Shakira (Bartley) will end the competition for us tomorrow in the triple jump. I know she will give it her all."
In the 100m hurdles, Jordan posted a time of 13.85s in the second heat of the competition. Due to a fast race in the third heat, Jordan was unable to qualify for the finals tomorrow. The senior ends her collegiate career as a two-time All-American, Peach Belt Conference Champion and the school record holder in the event.
Mullings competed in the third heat of the 110m hurdles. Despite a valiant effort against some of the fastest runners in the country, Mullings was unable to qualify for the final tomorrow, running the event in 14.53s. The Royal Palm Beach, Florida native concludes his career at NSU as a national qualifier, PBC Champion and school record holder in the aforementioned event.
The Sharks will wrap up the 2017 season on the final day of the Division II National Championship with the triple jump set to begin at 4:45 pm. Bartley enters the competition ranked fifth with a mark of 12.73m.
