FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. –
Simply one week after receiving votes in the preseason poll, Nova Southeastern didn't wait long to grab the attention of the national committee, sky-rocketing all the way up to No. 13 in the latest United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II women's rankings.
The Sharks opened up their 2017 campaign in impressive fashion by knocking off North Alabama, a club that then turned around and beat 16th
-ranked Barry less than 48 hours later. Nova Southeastern then reeled off 4-0 and 2-1 victories over Felician and Johnson & Wales to extend its program-record, home unbeaten streak to 18 matches.

's club is the only Sunshine State Conference member currently among the Top-25 and also firmly sits at No. 2 in the South Region.
Western Washington remained in the top spot in this week's poll, followed by No. 2 Columbus State, No. 3 Kutztown, No. 4 Central Missouri and No. 5 West Florida. The Sharks will travel to face Columbus State this Sunday for an enormous chance at a resume booster.
