HOW IT HAPPENED
DOUBLES:
- Florida Southern jumped to an early lead after claiming No. 3, but the Sharks came right back to tie the match 1-1, after tenth-ranked Andrea Ivanovic and Daniela Obando breezed by No. 11 Sasha Nionova and Selin Devrimci in the top flight, 8-1.
- Ana Navas and Isabella Lowery gave the Sharks a 2-1 lead going into singles following an 8-4 victory against Nina Schwab and Magda Stepnik at No. 2.
SINGLES:
- No. 28 Navas kept the momentum going for the Sharks, padding their lead to 3-1, with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Lorena Rionda in the top slot.
- After a tough match against Devrimci at No. 2 on Mar. 17, Ivanovic found her groove and coasted to a quick 6-2, 6-3 victory, making the score 4-1 in favor of NSU.
- Shortly after, it was déjà vu for Obando at No. 3, as she clinched the match-point for the Sharks against Natalija Popovic for the second time this season, this time by a score of 6-1, 6-3.
