MIAMI, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern rowing team competed in its first meet at the Tri-Meet Mix of Miami Rowing Races. The event took place at the Shane Rowing Center on the intercostal in Miami Beach, Saturday, Oct. 6. Conditions were calm for each event which made for exciting racing.
“We faced some tough competition against Barry and Miami today and gained some valuable early racing experience in our first competition of the year,” said first-year head coach Stephen Frazier-Wong. “Unfortunately, we were only able to win one race out of the three, but we will look to build upon the positive strokes we took as we get ready to race in Jacksonville next weekend.”
The Sharks' Varsity-8 team finished third in their race with a time of 16:15.7, on the 4.5K course. Miami finished first with a time of 15:20.7, and Barry, finishing second, clocked in at 15:36.4. The members of the Varsity-8 team were coxswain

The Sharks raced two Varsity-4 teams. NSU A finished second with a time of 19:12.2 and NSU B finished with a time of 19:47.4. Miami won the Varsity-4 event with a time of 17:40.4. The members of the NSU A team were the coxswain

The Novice-8 team picked up the lone victory for the Sharks as they finished with a time of 12:55, beating Miami, who finished at 15:18.4. This boat was full of first-time competitors for NSU, which included coxswain for the boat was
