Robert Baroniel

Roberto Baroniel joined Nova Southeastern University’s athletic department in August of 2021; having been elevated in August of 2022 to Manager of Revenue Generation, and Marketing and Promotions. Baroniel was promoted to the Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic External Affairs in August of 2024.

Baroniel leads a team that is responsible for corporate sponsorships, annual giving (Sharks Athletics Fund), alumni relations, special fundraising events, marketing and promotions, and fan attendance/experience.

Under Baroniel, the Revenue Generation team has seen a 150% increase in corporate partnerships and 132% increase in alumni giving. Special events has grossed just under $400,000 in annual revenue; while annual giving has consistently raised over $80,000 annually. The team is now working to develop a strategy to offer premium seating in the Rick Case arena; along with season ticket packages across all sports.

A graduate of Nova Southeastern University, Baroniel competed as a four-year student-athlete on the NSU Baseball team. During his time at NSU, Baroniel was selected as the National Chair for the NCAA Division II SAAC; while serving on the Championships Committee and Strategic Planning Task Force. Baroniel went on to sign with the Normal Cornbelters of the Frontier League in 2015.

Prior to NSU, Baroniel served as the Sports Information Director at Lynn University; while having previously served in roles focusing equipment, facilities and gameday operations.

Baroniel began his career on the internal side of an athletics department; serving a Graduate Assistant in Student-Athlete Development at the University of Missouri from 2016-2018; and as an intern in Academic Advising at the University of Miami in 2018-19.

A native of Miami, Fla., Baroniel graduated high school from Belen Jesuit Preparatory School. Robert, his wife and NSU alumnae Marissa, reside in Pompano Beach with their two kids, Levi and McKenna.
