WINTER PARK, Fla. –
The Nova Southeastern tennis team ended its fall season on a high note Sunday at the C.L Varner Invitational, hosted by Rollins, while taking the doubles consolation A draw championship.

Alexandra Johansson (Jr., Sydney, Australia) and Carlee Rizzolo (So., Livingston, N.J.) picked up the doubles title for NSU with a win over Flagler's Esther Santiago and Hanna Goettsching. The Sharks took the match by a score of 8-5. The win came against a formidable opponent, as both Saints helped lead their team to a NCAA postseason appearance last season.

"I was very pleased with the way we competed after getting off to a slow start," said head coach Stephen Schram. "They picked up their level of play and finished strong. It's great to end the last fall tournament on a positive note."

In singles play, Luisa Pintado (So., Guadalajara, Mexico) fought valiantly in her consolation final but fell to Florida Tech's Chloe Chanley, 6-3, 6-3. Emily Hart (So., Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago) won the D singles consolation draw by default after her opponent withdrew.
