WINTER PARK, Fla. – Nova Southeastern's
Nicola Brivio (So., Gallarte, Italy) and
Stefano Fanfoni (So., Cremona, Italy) have been named to the All-Sunshine State Conference Men's Soccer teams, as announced by the conference office Thursday.
The duo, who combined for 12 assists this season, were the leading playmakers for the Sharks in 2013. Brivio was named to the first team, recognizing him as one of the three best defenders in the league. Brivio had five assists on the season and held a shot-on-goal percentage of .500, with nine shots on target out of 18 attempts. Brivio also helped the Sharks claim four shutouts this season.
Fanfoni earns his first conference honor after leading NSU with seven assists. The midfielder had his brightest moment against No. 2 Rollins, when he tied the all-time program record of three assists in a match. He also scored a goal against No. 6 Lynn, bringing his points total to a team-best nine.
Both Brivio and Fanfoni are expected to return for their third seasons at NSU and will begin preseason for their 2014 campaign in the spring.
