WINTER PARK, Fla. – Shark junior guard
Danielle Robinson was recognized on Monday as the Sunshine State Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week Presented by VALIC.
Robinson (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) led the No. 4 Sharks to two convincing victories at the NSU Thanksgiving Classic. She was one of five double-digit scorers in the team's 94-62 win over Pittsburgh-Johnstown on Friday, with 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting, in 24 minutes of action. The following day, in a 42-point win over Flagler, Robinson scored 15 of the Sharks' first 24 points in the second half and led all scorers with 22 points. She went 7-for-11 from the field and 4-of-6 from behind the arc, while also pulling down a game-high 11 rebounds for her first double-double of the season.
Robinson is the second NSU women's player to be selected as SSC Player of the week this year. Teammate
Richelle Carach (Sr., Naples, Fla.) was the conference's first recipient of the season.
The Sharks are back in action this weekend for their SSC conference opener, facing Florida Southern in a women and men's doubleheader at the NSU Arena on Saturday, Dec. 7. The women tip off against the Mocs at 2 p.m., while their male counterparts follow at 4.
