WINTER PARK, Fla. – For the second straight year, sophomore outside hitter
Sydney Cook has garnered Sunshine State Conference recognition, as she was named to the All-SSC Second Team in Tuesday's announcement.
Cook (Miami), who was a member of the SSC's All-Newcomer Team as a freshman, became the first Shark since Danielle Graham (second team in 2010) to be selected All-Conference. This season, Cook finished fifth in the league in kills per set (3.34), fourth in points per set (3.92) and 14th in aces (0.28).
She has led the team in kills in each year with the squad (317 and 307 as a freshman and sophomore, respectively). Her career high in kills in a match is 19, which she has achieved four times, the most recent coming in the season-ending four-set win over Rollins.
