FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Nova Southeastern University Associate Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator Kelley Kish has been selected to participate in the 2014 NCAA Pathway Program. She is one of 12 individuals selected to go through the one-year program.
The NCAA Pathway Program services all senior-level athletics administrators who wish to become director of athletics as their next career step. The program is designed to provide national exposure to the selected participants and facilitate the opportunity to obtain information and gain career guidance from the leadership of experienced intercollegiate athletics administrators nationwide.
"I am excited to be selected for the NCAA Pathways Program and look forward to the knowledge, mentorship and growth I will experience," Kish said. "There will be many facets of the program that I can apply to NSU Athletics and utilize toward helping me achieve my career goal of becoming a Division II Director of Athletics. The programming from the NCAA and working alongside NSU Director of Athletics Michael Mominey will help build the important foundation needed to achieve the goals I have for NSU and beyond."
Participants in the NCAA Pathways program will gain a better understanding of the role directors of athletics in all NCAA divisions, gain an in-depth look into the NCAA governance structure and be exposed to key intercollegiate athletics stakeholders throughout the country. Those selected will be matched up with a director of athletics in the NCAA membership who will provide guidance and mentorship and paired with an NCAA member institution president/chancellor to participate in a one or two-day campus visit as they continue their current careers and purse future aspirations.
"This is a tremendous opportunity not only for Kelley, but for NSU athletics and the university," Director of Athletics Michael Mominey said. "The Pathways program provides deep insight to not only best practices, but innovative thinking in the intercollegiate athletic industry and her experience with the program will only assist us in our mission to provide the best quality academic and athletic experience to our student-athletes. Kelley's passion as an athletic administrator and willingness to gain knowledge to aid student-athletes makes her a perfect match for this program. I look forward to working with her for many years to come as we both share many of the same goals and expectations for the NSU athletic program."
