#NSU50 Top Moment No. 4: Nova Adds Four Sports

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. The #NSU50 "Top Moments in NSU Athletics History" continues with the fourth moment on the list: Nova adds four sports alongside its basketball team.
1984

By 1984, Nova had a mascot, a men's hoops team and Sonny Hansley, the basketball coach and Director of Athletics. The athletic department took a more traditional shape with the addition of men's soccer, women's volleyball and men's and women's cross country.

With Nova holding five sports, the Knights joined the National Little College Athletic Association. That governing body, in which the Knights competed for one season, is now known as the United States College Athletic Association.

The four added teams would help form the backbone of the athletic department. All four teams have had great success since their inception, with a combined six conference championships since 1984.
