FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Reigning Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week
Justin Jeangerard (Jr., Weaverville, Calif.) took time away from his busy schedule to dress up as Abe Lincoln and read to children at a recent Storytime Fun session at the Alvin Sherman Library.
Jeangerard dressed up, head to toe, as the nation's 16th president for the event. He read to young children a book about farm animals and helped them build paper Lincoln hats.
Miss Meagan's Storytime Fun, a free event for children ages 3 to 5 years with caregiver, takes place each Wednesday from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. at the Alvin Sherman Library. Storytime also includes a session of Family Literacy University (where parents learn early literacy skills to get their child ready to read) and Little Learners' Computer Lab (children explore the world online in a relaxed, one-on-one environment with fun, age-appropriate sites recommended by librarians).
