Buie Named to Daktronics All-South Region Second Team

Sophomore becomes fifth Shark to receive Daktronics nod

Daktronics All-South Region Release

CLEVELAND, Miss. –
Nova Southeastern women's basketball guard Taylor Buie was honored as a second-team member of the Daktronics All-South Region Team, as announced on Thursday.

Buie (So., Puyallup, Wash.), the Sharks' leading scorer at 15.3 points per game and most recently the Sunshine State Conference Tournament MVP, earns her second postseason honor in as many weeks, as she joined Jasmine Wilkins (R-Jr., Miami) on the recently-named All-SSC teams.

The second-year player is among the nation's leaders in 3-point percentage (44.7) and 3-pointers made per game (2.9), ranking ninth and 13th, respectively, in those categories. Both marks lead the SSC. She is also the team leader in free throw percentage at 82.6, good enough for sixth in the conference.

Buie is the fifth Shark to be named to a Daktronics All-Region squad (with the previous four players garnering a total of seven nods). Last season, Meixandra Porter was named to the Daktronics First Team, while current teammate Danielle Robinson (Jr., Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) was Second Team a year ago.

The annual Daktronics All-Region Teams are voted on by sports information directors from NCAA Division II schools that are members of the College Sports Information Directors of America.

The Sharks return to the court this Friday as hosts of the NCAA South Region. Their first round matchup will take place at 5 p.m. at the NSU Arena, against the Benedict Lady Tigers.
