Buie Recipient of Another Postseason Honor

Sophomore guard named Honorable Mention by Women's Division II Bulletin

Women's Division II Bulletin Press Release

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. –
Nova Southeastern women's basketball guard Taylor Buie picked up another postseason accolade on Monday, being honored by Women's Division II Bulletin as an Honorable Mention All-American.

Buie (So., Puyallup, Wash.) added to her already impressive résumé, as the third Shark to receive honors by the publication. Last season, Meixandra Porter was third-team All-American, while Stephanie Sarosi twice was selected, as third team in 2008-09, and fourth team in 2007-08.

Already this postseason, Buie has been named Honorable Mention All-American by the WBCA, Second Team All-South Region by Daktronics, and Second Team All-Sunshine State Conference. She was also the SSC Tournament Most Valuable Player and the South Region Tournament Most Outstanding Player.

Buie led the team in scoring (15.1), free throw percentage (84.2) and in both 3-point percentage (44.0) and 3-pointers made (95, 2.9 per game). The latter two marks ranked her eighth and 15th, respectively, in all of DII. The 95 made 3-pointers set a new program season record, breaking Porter's 77 of a year ago, as did the percentage, bettering Porter's mark of .409 in 2011-12.
