FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Nova Southeastern track and field freshman
Laruschka Joubert (Fr., Krugersdorp, South Africa) earned Peach Belt Conference Athlete of the Week for the second week in a row, as announced by the conference office Wednesday.
Joubert claims her second straight weekly award after improving upon her NCAA provisional and PBC-record javelin toss of a week ago. At the Miami Invitational, the freshman launched her javelin 43.07-meters (141' 4"), winning the event and setting new school and PBC records in the process. Having already set an NCAA provisional mark at 41.30m, she stretched that by nearly two meters in Miami. She also finished ninth in the discus and 12th in the shot put.
Joubert will compete at the Florida Relays beginning Friday, April 4 in Gainesville, Fla.
