FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Nova Southeastern softball player
Erika Garcia (Sr., Pembroke Pines, Fla.) has repeated as Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office Monday.
Garcia repeated after another dominant performance to lead the Sharks to a third straight SSC series sweep and a split with No. 24 Palm Beach Atlantic. Garcia finished the week hitting .611 (11-for-18) and slugging 1.056 with two doubles and two home runs. She also collected nine RBI and scored six times.
Against Palm Beach Atlantic, the senior went 5-for-9 at the plate with three RBI and two runs scored and a home run. Against Florida Southern, Garcia went 6-for-9 with six RBI and four runs scored. In the series finale, she went 2-for-3 with a double and a home run.
Garcia and the Sharks will host Tampa in a three-game series beginning Friday, April 11 at 6 p.m.
